1999 AGM Reviews Highlights and seeks Fair Play
The norm for the AGM is that people arrive late, leave early and sleep through the rest. This year, in contrast, Stepehen Scales led an active review of the year's highlights and most pressing issues.
Highlights include the U12's county league triumph, Cromane's first O'Sullivan Cup title, the continued pitch development and the contined ascendancy of Sean O'Sullivan's star. This year Sean played for Kerry in the U21 All-Ireland final and has represented Kerry in the first three national league games.
This ongoing dispute with Laune Rangers over club transfers was discussed. Cromane views the parish as an open one (refer to the Club History for more details). One player has been denied football for a year. Many more may be denied if current attitudes prevail. This is completely contrary to the objectives of the GAA which is to promote the playing of our national sports.
Michael Healy produced a detailed set of financial statements. These showed the the club lotto accounted for more than 50% of revenue with most expedniture going toward development of the field. This field now ranks as one of the premier in the county. Special tribute was paid to caretaker Michael Riordan.
