Cromane 2-06 Ballylongford 2-06
Cromane Seniors were at home in the Co. League n Sun last. The game was played in desperate weather conditions. Cromane with the aid of the wind in the first half scored their first point from Sean Sullivan and he added a 2nd point from a free. Cromane then had a point from play by Paul Sullivan. Cromane then had the ball in the Ballylongford net but was disallowed by the Referee for reasons only known to himself. Cromane had a goal from Sean Sullivan with further points from play by Micheal Shaughnessy and then Ballylongford were awarded a goal after one of the Cromane corner backs was shouldered into the back over the line which is a mystery to everyone, how the referee allowed it. It should have been a free out. Cromane continued and their 2nd goal from Paul O.Sullivan and a further free from Sean Sullivan and a point from play by Liam Walsh. This left the half time score Cromane 2.6 Ballylongford 1.0. In the second half it was all Ballylongford with the aid of the wind and rain. They dominated the game and had points from their Freetalker Ciarain Mulvihill and he had 2 more points from play. They had a point from play by their midfielder Keith Foley. Ciaran Mulvihill added two more points one from play and one from a free to leave a goal between the sides with 5 minutes to go. Cromane had a number of chances but it was Ballylongford who struck the equalizing game through Liam Weir. Both sides had chances of securing victory. Cromane were narrowly wide in the last kick of the game. This left the final score Cromane 2.6 Ballylongford 2.6. On a day when both sides must be complimented for playing in atrocious weather conditions.

CROMANE Seniors were away to Renard on Sun last in thye Co. League. Cromane played against the wind in the first half and were slow to settle. Renard had 4 points scored before Cromane had their first score of a point from play by Paul O.Sullivan. Renard had another point from play before Cromane had two points again from Paul O.Sullivan, one from play and the other from a free. Cromane had two chances of goals, one back off the upright and another save by the Renard goalkeeper. Both sides then exchanged points. Cromanes point being scored by Sean o.Sullivan. Renard kicked a further 4 points to leave the half time score Renard 0.11 Cromane 0.4. In the second half Cromane kicked 2 quick points from play one by Sean Sullivan and the other by Liam Walsh. Renard then kicked their first point in the half with a point from a free. Cromane then had two points one from a free by Niall Dennehy and the other from play by Liam Walsh to leave 4 points between the sides. Renard then had a point from play to extend their lead to 5 points. Cromane scored their 1st goal from Sean Sullivan when he fisted into the net and from the kick out the ball was won by Liam Walsh which he dropp3ed into the square and Cromane scored their 2nd gaol by Paul Sullivan to give Cromane a one point lead. Renard drew level with a point from play. Cromane again took the lead with time almost up with a point from play by Paul Sullivan. Renard were awarded a free which they converted and the sides were all square again. Cromane had one last chance of securing both points when they were awarded a 45 which was saved on the line by the Renard goalkeeper. This was the last action of the game and ended in a draw. Cromane 2-10 Moyvane 2-09
Cromane 2.10 Moyvane 2.9. Cromane were at home on Sat evening last in the Co. league when Moyvane were visitors to Cromane. It was a very close, physical and exciting game. Moyvane had the aid of the breeze in the first half and took an early 2 point lead with a point by Ciaran Stack and a free by Paddy Curtin. Cromanes first score was a goal by Paul O.Sullivan. The sides were level after a free by Paddy Curtin. Cromane then took the lead with a point from play by Micheal Shaughnessy and the sides were level 3 minutes later after a point from play by Cathal O.Connnor of Moyvane. Then came Moyvanes 1st goal after a mix up in the Cromane defence which was scored by Brian Stack giving them a 3 point lead. Cromane then had a point from play by corner forward Patrick Foley and then Cromane struck for their second goal which was scored by centre back Peter Reilly. Moyvane then had 2 pointed frees from Paddy Curtin but Cromane also added two points from frees one from Micheal Shaughnessy and the other from Paul Sullivan. This gave Cromane a one point lead at the half time break. The half time score was Cromane 2.4. Moyvane 1.6. Moyvane had a man sent off just before the half time break for a second yellow card. In the second half Moyvane were first to score a pointed free by Paddy Curtin and they took the lead with a point from play by James Flavin. The sides were soon level after a point from play by Devon Flaherty of Cromane. Both sides then swopped points, one by Paddy Curtin and a point from play by Cromanes Sean Sullivan. With 10 minutes to go, Moyvane were awarded a penalty which was scored by Paddy Curtin to give Moyvane a 3 point lead but Cromane dominated for the remainder of the game and kicked 4 unanswered points. An inspirational long distance point by Niall Dennehy, a pointed free by Micheal Shaughnessy and an equalising point by Dermot Houlihan brought them level. The last score and the winning point was scored by Sean Sullivan of Cromane. The Final score was Cromane 2.10 Moyvane 2.9. Knocknagoshel 2-09 Cromane 1-10
Cromane were away to Knocknagoshel on Sun last in the Co. League. Cromane were playing against the wind in the first half and got a great start and were leading by 3 points after 10 minutes. 2 points from Paul Sullivan from play and 1 from free by Micheal Shaughnessy. Cromane did not score again until the last 5 minutes of the first half which was unbelieveable considering they dominated the game, kicking the ball into the goalkeepers hands and missing goal chances. Knocknagoshel added 1.3 before Cromane had a point from play by Paul Sullivan, both sides swopped points in the closing stages. Cromanes point from play was scored by Niall Dennehy. This left the half time score Cromane 0.5. Knocknagoshel 1.4. In the start of the second half, Knocknagoshel extended their lead from their midfielder man but Cromane fought back with a point from play by Micheal Shaughnessy and a pointed free by Sean Sullivan. Cromane then had a number of great chances of goals before Liam Walsh did score a goal. Sean Sullivan had a point from play and another by Niall Dennehy to give Cromane a 2 point lead with 5 minutes remaining. Knocknagoshel scored their second goal against the run of play. Cromane tried hard to score a winning goal. Both sides swopped points. Cromanes point from Sean Sullivan. This left the final score Cromane 1.10 Knocknagoshel 2.9. The players can only blame themselves for losing this game as they had 75% of the play and should have taken their scoring chances.

Cromane were at home on Sun last -v Valentia in the second phase of Div 5 of the Co. League. Valentia were first to score with a point from a free by Paul Sullivan. Cromane had a great chance of a goal before they kicked 3 unanswered points, two from play, one by Micheal Shaughnessy and the other by Devon Flaherty and a point from a free by Paulo Sullivan for Cromane. Valentia had two points from free by Paul Sullivan and then came the first score of the game which was scored by Devon Flaherty from Cromane. Valentia then had 2 points, one from play by Brendan Sullivan and the other from a free by Paul Sullivan. Cromane then had 2 points from frees by their Paul Sullivan and then it was the turn of Valentias Paul Sullivan to score a point for Valentia. The final say in the first half went to Cromanes Paul Sullivan with a point from play. This left the half time score Cromane 1.6. Valentia 0.6. In the second half, Cromane dominated for a long period and kicked 7 points in a row. Valentia 0.13 Cromane 1.6. Cromane travelled to Valentia on Sat last to play the locals in the Co. league. The game was played in very windy conditions. An under strength Cromane team played with the aid of the wind in the first half. Valentia were first to score a point from play by their centre forward John Shanahan. Cromane then took an early lead when they scored 3 points, frees by John and Paul Sullivan and appoint from play by John Sullivan. This was cancelled out by 3 points all from Valentias John Shanahan. Two frees and one from play. Cromane missed 2 goal chances before they had a point from a 45 by Niall Dennehy. Valentia finished the scoring in the first half with a point each by Paul Sullivan and Jer Shea from play. This left the half time score Valentia 0.6 Cromane 0.4. In the second half with the every strengthening wind, Valentia increased their lead by 3 points, with 2 points from Mid fielder Sean Sullivan and Jer Shea. Cromane Seniors were at home on Sunday last when Renard were visitors to Cromane. Renard played with the strong wind in the first half, Cromane however were first to score with a point from Liam Walsh. Quickly followed with a pointed free from Liam Sullivan from Renard who was Renards main scorer for the day. Cromane responded with a point from play from Paul O’Sullivan which was cancelled out with a point from play by Liam Sullivan. Renard took the lead after a pointed free from Liam Sullivan. Cromane were awarded a free which was converted by Paul P.O’Sullivan after a foul on Niall Dennehy, increasing their lead to two points Cromane Emmets Casey scored a point from play from a tight angle. Renard finished the scoring of the first half when they had a point from play from Darragh O’Neill followed closely by a converted 45 by Liam Sulllivan leaving the half time score Renard 0-5, Cromane 0-4. In the second half with the aid of the wind Cromane missed a number of chances before the sides were level with a long range effort from Niall Dennehy. Cromane then took the lead with a point from play from Micheal Shaugnessy. The sides were soon level again after Liam Sullivan cut through the Cromane defence and finished with a great point. Mid-way through the second half Cromane went ahead with 2 points from play from Niall Dennehy and Liam Walsh. Renard replied with a converted free from Liam Sullivan. Cromane retaliated with a pointed free from Micheal Shaugnessy. From here it continued to be a battle of the free takers as Liam Sullivan converted a free from Renard against the wind cancelled out with a free from Cromane by Micheal Shaugnessy. Cromane were 3 points ahead going into injury time when Cromane were awarded a free which was fielded by the Renard goal keeper which was then worked all the way up the field where it found Liam Sullivan who soloed through the Cromane defence to finish with an equalising goal. Cromane were at home on Sun last against Kilcummin B in the Co. league. The game was played in brilliant sunshine. The first score of the game was a goal by Niall Dennehy then Cromane had a point each all from play from Sean Sullivan, Paul Sullivan, Micheal Shaughnessy and Niall Dennehy. Kilcummin then scored 2 points one from a free by Ian Devane And the other by Daniel o.leary from play but Cromane continued to dominate and had 4 points from play before the break one each from Sean Sullivan, John Sullivan, Micheal Shaughnessy and Devon Flaherty. This left the half time score Cromane 1.8. Kilcummin 0.2. In the second half Cromane were first to score with a point from play by Micheal Shaughnessy. This was cancelled out by a Kilcummin free by Ian Devane before Kilcummin scored a goal by Ger Sheehan after a deflection off one of the Cromane backs. Cromane had further points from play by Micheal Shaughnessy, Dermot Houlihan, Sean Sullivan, before Kilcummin replied with a point from play by Ian Devane. Cromane had another point from play by Micheal Shaughnessy and Cromane had their second goal after a great move by Devon Flaherty. KLilcummin then converted a free by Ian Devane. Cromane Seniors made the short journey to Killorglin to play Laune Rangers in the Co. league on Sat last. In the first half Cromane were first to score right from the throw in with a point from Sean Sullivan. Cromane had a number of scoring chances before the sides were level when Laune Rangers scored a point from play. Cromane then had a chance of a goal but it went narrowly wide. Dermot Houlihan put Cromane ahead before Laune Rangers struck for their first goal and within minutes Laune Rangers scored their second goal. Cromane replied with two frees, one from Micheal Shaughnessy and one from Sean Sullivan. Both sides then exchanged points. Cromanes point from Sean Sullivan before Laune Rangers had a point from play and right on the stroke of half time, Laune Rangers were awarded a penalty which was converted. Just before half time Cromane had another goal chance but was saved by the Rangers keeper. This left the half time score Cromane 0.5. Laune Rangers 3.3. In the second half Cromane dominated for the remainder of the half. Cromane had a point from a free from Paul O.Sullivan, Micheal Shaughnessy added a second from a free and one from Liam Walsh. Sean Sullivan had another to reduce the rangers lead to 3 points and with 10 minutes left, Rangers had their first point and added 2 further points from play leaving the score entering the final stages of the game Laune Rangers 3.6. Cromane 0.9. Cromane continued to put pressure on the Laune Rangers backs and after a great move, Laune Rangers scored a great goal. Templenoe travelled to Cromane on Sun last to take on the locals in the Co. League. The game was played in perfect conditions in brilliant sunshine. The home team opened the scoring with a point from play by Dermot Houlihan. Cromane then had a free which was scored by Sean Sullivan. The visitors then had their 1st point from Sean Sheehan. Cromane hit a purple patch and scored 4 unanswered points two frees, one by Paul Sullivan and one by Micheal Shaughnessy and two points from play by Sean Sullivan and Donnachadh Walsh. Templenoe replied with 2 points both from play by Teddy Doyle and Patrick Palmer. The home team responded in great fashion with a point and a goal by Sean Sullivan the home team closed the scoring with a point from play by Paul O.Sullivan. This left the half time score Cromane 1.8. Templenoe 0.3. Templenoe started the second half in determi9ned fashion and had 2 quick points, one from play by Sean Sheehan and the other a free by Teddy Doyle. Cromane Seniors were away to Glenbeigh/Glencar in their final game of the Mid Kerry League on Sun last. It was a good sporting game throughout. Glenbeigh took an early lead with 2 points but Cromane fought back and took the lead with a point and a goal from Finbar Casey. Cromane dominated the early exchanges but failed to take their scores whereas Milltown/Castlemaine took their scoring chances and were leading at half time on a score of 2.6 to Cromane 0.2. Both points coming from frees. One by Sean Sullivan and one by Paul Sullivan. In the second half Cromane came more into the game but it was Milltown/Castlemaine who struck for a third goal. Cromane were away to Beaufort in the Mid Kerry Senior league on Sun last. Cromane dominated in early stages but were off target on a number of occasions. The first score of the game for Cromane was a point by Emmet Casey, Beaufort took the lead with 2 points from play before Cromane had a point from play from Paul O.Sullivan. Cromane Seniors were at home on Sat last in round of the Mid Kerry League. The game was played in deplorable conditions with lashing rain and strong winds. Cromane were leading at half time on a score of 3 points to 2 points. Cromanes points came from Sean Sullivan and John Houlihan from play with a pointed free from Sean Sullivan. Cromane played against the wind in the first half and in the second half, they had a lot of possession but failed to convert into scores and Mike Frank Russell for Laune Rangers stole the show in the second half when he scored 3 points from play and converted a penalty and a free. Cromane seniors were away to Keel in the opening round of this years Mid Kerry League and had a one point win. The game was played in very poor weather conditions. Cromane were leading at half time on a score of 0.4. to 0.3. All Cromanes points came from play in the first half. One from Paul Sullivan, two by Micheal Shaughnessy and one by Sean Sullivan.
